How do you go about finding the right real estate agent? My first advice is to find an agent with a great reputation. Ask family and friends if they know an agent that they had a good experience with. Don’t be afraid to ask the agent a lot of questions to see if they are going to be the best match for you. So what may be some questions you may want to ask? How long have you been selling real estate? How many homes a year do you sell? Are you a full time agent or a part time agent? Do you specialize with sellers or buyers? If you are a seller some other questions you may want to ask; what are you going to do in order to sell my home? Do you use print media; if so, which ones? Are you going to use the internet; if so, what sites? What other marketing strategies will you use in order to get my home sold? If you’re a buyer some questions you will want to ask will be; how are you going to update me on new listings? How often can we see homes? How often will you be updating me?
I would always recommend you interview with at least 2 agents. If you ask the right questions up front you’re going to have much better odds that you found the best agent to meet your needs. If an agent says to you they don’t communicate via texting and that’s a prime way for you to communicate, then don’t work with that agent and the opposite, if an agent tells you they will be e-mailing you new homes on the market or feedback from a showing of your home and you like a phone call then find the agent that best meets your needs.
I hope you found these questions to ask to be helpful and if I can be of any help please contact me and if there’s a topic you want me to write on please let me know.
