Holiday Shows in Boston MA

Urban Nutcracker: A true Boston story, local dance legend Tony Williams reimagined the classic holiday tale to become a Boston inner-city story with a neon-buzz, blending the rhythms of Duke Ellington with the classical music of Tchaikovsky. Annually, 150 performers – including professional ballet dancers – take the stage to showcase a broad diversity of dance forms celebrating multicultural Boston. Join heroine Clarice as she explores iconic Boston scenes such as Make Way for Ducklings, Top of the Hub, Chinatown, and the Boston Public Garden. The delightful story continues by following the magical journey of Clarice and her Nutcracker guide through classical ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz, flamenco, and more.

“You really don’t get more “original” than Williams’ version of The Nutcracker that features people who reflect the increasingly diverse neighborhoods of Boston and, frankly, many other metro areas in the United States.” — The Boston Globe

There will be a Sensory Friendly performance on Wednesday, December 27 at 7:30pm. This performance is ideal for families with autism and for families with very young children

A Christmas Carol: Celebrate the holiday season with New England’s largest production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol! The show is refined and revised each year, and the 10th Anniversary production, adapted by President and CEO Troy Siebels, will feature more magic than ever before.

You know the story and you love the message of redemption, but you’ll never see another Christmas Carol like this one. New and returning cast members tell the tale of curmudgeonly miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by the ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and Future. This brilliant musical, set with timeless music, colorful costumes, and spectacular scenery and lighting, follows Scrooge as he discovers the true spirit of the holiday season. The show features an array of spectacles from different kinds of smoke and fog to spectacular flying stunts, plus, of course the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ, New England’s largest theatre pipe organ.
